Alison Byrne - Individual, Family and Parent Support Groups for Parenting Advice and Family Support

Family issues are in the news at the moment and a range of television shows has raised the profiles of problems between parents and children.

As a result of working with families around the Kent area I was shocked to see there was very little family support available for the average parent. Three years ago I opened a parent and family coaching service offered through individual, family work parenting workshops and parent support groups. These aim to provide parenting advice and family support by looking at practical ways to improve relationships within the home, whether this is with children or with partners.

Family Coach Profile

I am passionate about families and how they can work more effectively. After qualifying as a social worker in 1995 in Kent, I have gained ten years experience working with children, parents and foster carers by providing family support and parenting advice to help parents manage challenging behaviour. I believe that hands on and realistic family support and advice is important and that change can be quick. I have managed parenting classes, training courses for other professionals and provided individual support and advice for families experiencing difficulties. Over the years I have worked with children presenting extreme and dangerous behaviours and I also have experience of both physical and learning difficulties.

Alison Byrne family coach and trainer – helping you bring back the pleasure of family life

For the last three years I have ran my own practice in Kent providing parenting advice and family support. This is through either one to on sessions, family sessions, parenting workshops and parent support groups with the aim to help provide solutions for parents, children and foster carers experiencing difficulties within the home. I bring together practical strategies to manage behaviours with an arena to open up communication. I offer a supportive and safe environment to talk about the problems and will help you find effective ways to make changes within the house. My starting point is that there is no one to blame and that as a family you are the experts. I truly believe parents have the means to make changes but may need extra information or support to do this. I also offer the services of parenting workshops and  support groups as an opportunity for parents to share parenting advice and seek like minded others. It often helps to know you are not alone.

If I feel I am not able to provide the required family support I will refer on to an associate who has a particular specialism or expertise.

There is presently a shortage of services on the subject of parenting advice and family support that are easily and quickly accessed, and is practical and innovative and produces good outcomes.
